David Bowie's life to be made into a musical
Bowie is known for being uber-protective of his music and rarely, if ever, gives permission for its use, but is said to have been impressed by the musical.
Entitled Heroes: The Musical, the futuristic story centres on three characters – Major Tom, the Starman and a "young dude" who goes by the name of David, the Guardian reported.
These men embark on an adventure to the backing of Bowie's music.
Deep Singh, a screenwriter and the man behind the musical, told the newspaper: "We could not really believe it when they gave us permission.
"His people had warned us that it was very unlikely that he would be interested and that he had been asked many times before."
Bowie meanwhile is rumoured to be considering leaving his beleaguered record label EMI after spending 15 years there.
He is said to be in talks with Sony Music and Universal Music. EMI have so far refused to comment, fuelling speculation that the singer-songwriter will not renew his contract in January when it comes to an end.
