Dave Navarro Learnt on a Yamaha Guitar
Posted on 12 Feb 2010 11:04 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Yamaha introduced the FG range in the late 60s - just at a time when some of today's guitar legends were just cutting their teeth.
Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro once said about his FG: "It was a birthday present when I was eleven.
"I had been playing a little on this garage-sale guitar, and when it looked like I was going to stick with it, my mom got me a Yamaha acoustic."
Fast forward 40 years and the FG range is still one of Yamaha's most recognisable lines - but sitting quietly at the very top of the range is a little number that very few people know much about.
Guitar Product Manager Julian Ward explains: "The FG guitars started out as a Japanese domestic market only product, so weren't available in this country at all!
"It wasn't until we played on one and literally fell in love with it, that we asked if we could bring some into the UK.
"Handcrafted in the Japanese workshop 'The FG' takes its design from the original 60s Yamaha FGs. Made from a solid Sitka Spruce top and a solid Mahogany back and sides, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, bridge and binding.
"A comfortable V-shaped neck finishes this simple guitar off in style."
