Dave Grohl had coffee attack
Posted on 23 Mar 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Dave Grohl had to be taken to hospital after overdosing on coffee.
The Them Crooked Vultures rocker - whose bandmates John Paul Jones and Josh Homme recently posted a video online revealing he'd been ordered by a doctor to reduce his caffeine intake - was struck down with crippling chest pains and was shocked to be told his condition had been caused by his favourite hot beverage.
Grohl - who has two daughters, three-year-old Violet Maye and 11-month-old Harper Willow, with his wife Jordyn Blum - said: "We were in the studio making a record and I was drinking a lot of coffee. I was doing Vultures stuff at night, Foo Fighters stuff during the day and I had a newborn at home so I was sleeping 2-3 hours a night on an air mattress in a guest bedroom. And yeah, I had too much coffee, I started to get chest pains so I went to the hospital and they told me to stop drinking the coffee."
Despite his hectic life, the musician - who is also the frontman of the Foo Fighters - insists he has no intentions of reducing his work schedule.
He added in an interview with Absolute Radio: "I don't really consider it work. The only thing I like doing better than music is being with my family. You try to make time for all of these things because they all feel so good. I love being in the Foo Fighters, I love being in the Vultures and I love being at home."
Them Crooked Vultures opened this year's Teenage Cancer Trust concerts last night (22.03.10) at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The charity - which was started by The Who 10 years ago - has hosted gigs for the past decade to raise money to pay for specialist teenage cancer units at UK hospitals.
Other acts playing in support of the organisation include Suede, Noel Gallagher - who is performing his first shows since quitting Oasis last August - and The Who.
Absolute Radio is broadcasting highlights from this year's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs on-air and online at www.absoluteradio.co.uk.
