Dave Grohl gets back behind drum kit
Posted on 3 Jul 2009 12:02 to category : Band / Celebrity News
Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl is set to get back behind his drum kit as part of a brand new supergroup.
He is currently collaborating with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin to record a new album.
Grohl first rose to prominence in the 1990s playing drums in Nirvana, but in recent years has established himself as a singer and electric guitar player with the Foo Fighters.
But performances with artists as diverse as Tenacious D and Sir Paul McCartney have shown that his love of the drum kit has not waned - as this latest project shows.
Rumours of a collaboration between the trio have been circling for a number of years, but it is only now that they have actually commenced work.
Details of the project are being kept closely under wraps, although Homme's wife Brody Dalle did reveal that the sounds they are creating are "pretty amazing".
