Dave Grohl 'a truly amazing musician'
Dave Grohl is a "truly amazing musician" who has had an incredible career, it has been stated.
In an article looking back over Grohl's life, Music Cycle columnist Jon Richard explained that the star began playing the electric guitar at the age of 12, going on to teach himself to play the drums.
He is best known for his work with Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures, but Grohl has also contributed several other notable bands, it was explained.
These include Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Queens of the Stone Age.
"Dave Grohl is one of those musicians that only comes around once in a decade," said Mr Richard.
"Drums have always been Dave Grohl's instrument … the kit becomes one with him."
Foo Fighters have recently announced they are going to play two giant shows at the Milton Keynes Bowl, with the gigs to take place in July 2011.
