Dappy wants music recognition
Posted on 25 May 2010 07:00 to category : Music News

N-Dubz star Dappy "regrets" all the trouble he's been in.
The London rapper - who was recently involved in a meow meow drugs scandal and has got into several fights - is trying to change his lifestyle for the better because he wants to be known for his musical talents.
He said: "I have regrets, but I'm putting the bad stuff behind me and I think I'm coming out a better person. I know violence isn't good for you.
"Education and being a rapper and a singer is good. Anything you want to do in life, you can do it. Drugs, guns, knives - stay away from it. I'm not who I am now through that - it's through my talent."
Dappy has a 15-month old son Gino with his pregnant ex-girlfriend Kaye Vassell and he is trying to repair their strained relationship for the sake of their child.
Denying their were separated, the 22-year-old star said: "Me and Kaye are together. We argue a lot but I love her very much. She puts me in my place and she's just very real with me. Obviously, I've made mistakes and gone with other girls, but Kaye is number one to me.
"I'm a cool dad. I'm a rapper, singer, wow! It's cool. Gino is going to have an upbringing that I never had. I had a lot of warmth and love, but we weren't rich. And I grew up in a very negative environment. So I'm going to give him the warmth from my family but I'm also going to make sure that he has a castle to play in with a big slide. And he'll stay grounded!"
