Dappy the saviour of British music?
Armed with just his music software N-Dubz star Dappy could be the saviour of the British music scene.
According to Soul II Soul musician Jazzie B, who was recently made an OBE, Dappy is one to watch.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, Jazzie B said that artists rely too heavily on collaboration with other stars to make a name for themselves, however, Dappy is breaking the mould.
"But I saw Dappy and Tinchy Stryder doing their thing, and I notice he's doing a lot more vocals and rapping, it's really interesting to see that evolution, and maybe that could be the antidote to what's happening," he added.
The musician also thinks that Dappy and his N-Dubz bandmates Tulisa and Fazer could take a page out of his group's book and make their music about their lifestyle, as well as their songs.
"Soul II Soul were different, as it was more of a lifestyle. The level of integrity was quite different," he added.
However, it seems that N-Dubz' musical future may be under threat, as Dappy is reportedly unhappy that Tulisa is putting the band on the backseat to focus on her new X Factor judging role.
A source told the Sun he was "livid" about his cousin's involvement in the reality talent show.
However, Tulisa has stressed she has no plans to retire her microphone.
