Daniel Radcliffe defends Lana Del Rey
Critics of the singer believe her substandard effort on Saturday Night Live go a long way to show that she has been hyped up to the maximum, a PR effort that has convinced the world she is a superstar in the making.
However, Radcliffe, who introduced Del Rey on the show, told the BBC that he thought the harsh words against her were unjustified.
"It was unfortunate that people seemed to turn on her so quickly," he said.
"I also think people are making it about things other than the performance. If you read what people are saying about her online, it's all about her past and her family and stuff that's nobody else's business."
Celebrities themselves got in on the debate with Hollywood actress and musician Juliette Lewis comparing her to a "12-year-old in their bedroom when they're pretending to sing and perform".
Del Rey's new album Born to Die is out at the end of the month
