Cribs guitarist chose Gibson ES-335 due to Franz Ferdinand

Cribs guitarist Ryan Jarman has revealed that Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos is the reason he chooses to play a Gibson ES-335 guitar.
The Yorkshire indie band recently recruited former Smiths and Electronic guitarist Johnny Marr to their line-up.
Marr is a renowned guitar aficionado and the Gibson ES-335 is one of his favourite instruments.
However, in an interview with Gibson's website, Jarman revealed his choice of guitar had not been influenced by his new colleague.
"The reason why I started playing them in the first place was Alex from Franz Ferdinand had one and I used it in the studio and just loved the sound of it," he explained.
Jarman added that the Gibson ES-335 semi-acoustic, which he plays on the band's fourth album Ignore the Ignorant, is ideal for The Cribs' rock sound.
He explained that by having a lot of gain on the amp, he can ensure the guitar is always close to feeding back, which adds "a lot of tension" to the songs.
