Courteeners' Liam Fray set for historic acoustic gig at Salford Lads Club

Liam Fray, the frontman in The Courteeners, is gearing up to play a historic acoustic guitar gig at Salford Lads Club.
He will play a solo show on August 18th 2010 at the venue, which was made famous by a famous photo taken of The Smiths standing outside it.
Fray told NME that he believes he will be the first person ever to perform a gig at Salford Lads Club and said he was looking forward to the show, especially its acoustic element.
"To strip the songs down and play the songs in the purest form, just a man and his guitar, is something I've always enjoyed," the musician explained.
He added that he thinks it will allow him to have a greater connection with the audience.
Fray has a busy month ahead, as The Courteeners have also been booked to play at this year's V Festival, which is taking place on August 21st and 22nd.
