Musician Conor Oberst is auctioning off a hand-painted Fender Stratocasterguitar to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

The Crafts for a Cause initiative is encouraging musicians to donate items they have made to raise funds for Artists for Peace and Justice.

As well as Oberst's Fender Stratocasterguitar, Vampire Weekend have contributed a specially-designed gym bag, while Regina Spektor has made a T-shirt for the auction, which was thought up by Binki Shapiro, a musician in the group Little Joy.

Other items are set to come from the likes of Daft Punk, Mark Ronson and The Black Keys.

Oberst is not the only musician to recently donate a Fender Stratocaster to raise money for Haiti.

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner handed over the guitar he used to an Oxfam auction recently – with the item raising £4,600 for the charity's aid efforts in the country.
