Posted on 4 Jan 2010 17:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Coldplay memorabilia including electric guitars, keyboards and guitar amps has raised over £250,000 at auction.
The rock band recently held what was billed as an End of Decade Clearout Sale, which also included some of the posters and platinum discs that have mounted up over the years.
Proceeds of the auction will go to Kids Company, a London charity that offers support to vulnerable youngsters in the city.
Six items, including an electric guitar owned by Jonny Buckland, attracted bids of more than £10,000.
Writing on their website, Coldplay revealed they are very excited, grateful and amazed by the amount of the money the auction raised.
"A huge thanks to everyone who bid and helped make the Clearout Sale such a success," they commented.
Coldplay will resume touring next month, when they head to South America to perform in cities such as Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Bogota.
