Coldplay 'nervous' about new material
Coldplay are "nervous and excited" about their new material.
The 'Viva La Vida' hitmakers are set to debut some of the long-awaited songs from their sixth album at the Glastonbury festival later this month and are hoping people will the sound they have been working on.
Writing during rehearsals at London's Kentish Town Forum venue - where they prepared for their first time at the festival in 2002 - the group's roadie posted on their official blog: "The band have changed a great deal - stronger, more experienced and confident, but still the same four (well, five) fellas.
"But here they are again, standing in that very same little corridor, emerging from the studio and onto the live stage. About to start a new adventure.
"Nervous, excited and hoping that the world shares their enthusiasm for what they've created."
Fans can hear the first of the group's new songs, 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall', from their sixth studio album, on Friday (03.05.11).
After posting three videos which showed lyrics from the song as words written on blackboards, an entry on the band's official twitter read: "Enough teasing... we have a new song called 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall'. Hear it on Friday (sic)."
The band also posted a link to the lyrics of the track and the album artwork, which features the track title imposed over a close up of a wall sprayed with brightly coloured graffiti.
Part of the lyrics read: "I turn the music up, I got my records on / from underneath the rubble sing a rebel song / don't want to see another generation drop / I'd rather be a comma than a full stop."Posted on 1 Jun 2011 16:15 to category : Music News
