Coldplay for Paralympics gig
The guitar group behind such well-known tracks as Talk, Clocks, Yellow and the recent number one Paradise, will be taking to the stage at an occasion to mark the sporting event's close.
"Being asked to play at the closing celebrations for the Paralympic athletes in London is such a great honour for us," Martin has commented of the gig, which takes place on the 9th of September this year. He also said that the band were "so happy to be involved".
The long-running group released the LP Parachutes back in 2000. Since then their albums have included X & Y and their most recent, Mylo Xyloto. Alongside Martin, Coldplay is made up of Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Guy Berryman.
The Paralympics will kick off on the 9th of August this year, with the Olympics beginning on the 27th of July.
