One of the most unusual supergroups ever formed, Apparatjik, have confirmed they are to release a single.
Apparatjik consist of Coldplay bass guitar player Guy Berryman, Mew singer and guitarist Jonas Bjerre, and A-ha keyboard player Magne Furuholmen, together with record producer Martin Terefe.
The band only originally formed to record a charity record in 2008, but it now appears that they have loftier ambitions.
They have contacted a small group of fans to reveal that they have recorded a single entitled Electric Eye, which will be released via the band's website on November 30th 2009.
It is also strongly rumoured that Apparatjik are in the process of recording a full debut album.
Berryman has been able to commit to working with Apparatjik as Coldplay are currently taking a break from their huge Viva la Vida tour, which is not scheduled to resume until February 2010.
The group is not the bass guitar player's first project away from Coldplay, as he also contributed to Furuholmen's 2004 solo album Past Perfect Future Tense.
