Classic Gibson guitar to be reproduced
Arthur Ramm, who rocks his 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard in local bars and clubs across the north-east, told the Sunderland Echo that Gibson has revealed it is to create limited edition replicas.
It all started when Mr Ramm, 62, learnt that Gibson was looking to produce copies of a similar guitar owned by Paul Kossoff, from the band Free.
Mr Ramm's guitar also used to belong to Kossoff – he swapped it for his guitar back in the 1970s.
"I'm very excited about the idea," Mr Ramm told the newspaper about how he felt about the new batch of guitars.
"The plan is to produce 100 replicas with all the dints and marks of my guitar now, and a further 150 copies of it in pristine condition – all to the original specifications. It will be amazing to see that."
Free were an English rock band from the late 60s, early 70s. They are most famous for their classic 1970 tune All Right Now.
