Chris Pennie announces he's leaving Coheed And Cambria
Pennie explained his decision to leave the US prog-rock band after four years behind a drum kit was due to him wanting to explore other musical endeavours and not because there had been a falling out.
"I am very thankful for the years that I shared the stage with the guys and want to thank the amazing, supportive fans that I've met on tour, but there are a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, in addition to Return to Earth and Fight Mannequins, that I fee require my absolute 100 per cent commitment and attention," he said.
"I feel that this is the right time to make that happen."
It's been a tough few months for the band as only in August they parted ways with bass guitar player Michael Todd.
Of Pennie's departure, the band said: "Tough decision were made today that will shape the band for the coming years.
"We extend our deepest appreciation to Chris Pennie for an incredible journey."
