Choral experience for Florence Welch

The double number-one-album-scoring Florence and the Machine singer Florence Welch has been waxing lyrical about a recent choral experience.

It turns out the singer got to play with a rather sizable group of vocalists on her latest song.

She said in an interview with MTV News: "There was a 60-piece choir singing the vocal parts that I had written. When the baritones came in, I nearly wept, it was so emotional."

As well as making her full of pride, the experience had proven to be a real all-time highlight for her, she said.

The piece was commissioned for a film called Snow White and the Huntsman and recorded at Abbey Road Studios, according to MTV.

The song, which had been all about bass and drums in demo form became "this amazing orchestral thing" once it was put into the hands of some American collaborators, Florence said.

Florence's back-catalogue with Florence and the Machine features Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up), Shake It Out and You've Got The Love.

The new piece is called Breath of Life. Snow White and the Huntsman features actress Kristen Stewart, of Twilight fame.
