Choosing a guitar case is an important decision
John Callaghan, editor of Guitar & Bass Magazine, explains that this extremely important decision depends on what you are going to use it for.
"The higher [the price of your guitar] the more likely you are to get a hard case shell, but obviously that's not practical if you're lugging it around on trains or what have you."
Mr Callaghan went on to state that there is a whole raft of styles to choose from.
Some cases allow musicians to carry two guitars at once – brilliant for musicians who like to mix up their performances with acoustic and electric sounds.
Brands like Ibanez think outside of the box – one of their designs has a bottle holder for example, something that a guitarist wouldn't necessarily consider integral to a gig, but important nonetheless.
For those extra-conscious of protecting their guitars, hard cases are an absolute must. With these solid cases – usually with a foam lining – musicians can feel safe in the knowledge that their prized possession is well looked after.
Guitar & Bass Magazine has offered news, reviews and features about guitars and bass guitars since 1991.
