Children to get chance to play orchestral music instruments
Children are being given the chance to familiarise themselves with orchestral music instruments.
Pop for Tots is an annual series of children's concerts, and this year Penrith Symphony Orchestra will be working alongside children, reported Penrith Press.
David Cervi, president of Penrith Symphony Orchestra, said that children had a "natural affinity for music instruments".
Speaking to the newspaper, he said: "Over the years at Pops for Tots, we've seen many, many children's eyes light up as they become switched on to classical music, often triggering a life-long interest and a desire to learn an instrument."
The concert is aimed at children aged between three and eight.
They even have an opportunity to conduct the orchestra themselves.
This year's concert theme is a musical tale based around a "fantastic toybox".
The children might consider taking up playing the ukulele, which is back "in fashion".
A survey by the Music Instrument Retain Conference revealed that the music instrument has been the fastest growing instrument this year.
