Chickenfoot 'won't be a one-off'

Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers has revealed that his sideline project Chickenfoot will produce a second album.

Speaking to MusicRadar, he said performing in the rock supergroup has been a lot of fun and that he would like to keep playing with his new bandmates.

Indeed, he is already looking at returning to the recording studio and trying to outdo the group's eponymous debut album.

"That's something I want to make very clear," Smith commented.

"Chickenfoot isn't a one-off thing for any of us - we're a band."

The project has already been hailed by electric guitar manufacturer Gibson, which said it sounds like a "true amalgamation" of each member's individual resumes.

Gibson added that the band's first LP contains hard rock songs instead of "Radiohead-style experimentation".
