Charlie Watts still behind The Rolling Stones' drum kit
Watts has spent more than 45 years behind The Rolling Stones' drum kit, proving that he is equally adept providing the rhythm for a rock band as he is jazz bands.
However, he is now 68 and a media report suggested he had finally decided to cut his ties with one of the all-time great bands.
The Rolling Stones' management were quick to respond with an outright denial.
A spokesman for the veteran rockers said: "Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning on a small music website in Australia, drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones."
In addition to being part of a group that has made such classic albums as Exile On Main Street and Let It Bleed, Watts has also been a regular behind the drum kit with several jazz bands.
The famous non-hell raiser has released a number of jazz albums, including Watts At Scott's and Warm & Tender.Posted on 3 Sep 2009 11:32 to category : Band / Celebrity News
