Carl Barat announces solo album

Carl Barat has announced the details of his debut solo album.
The Libertines co-frontman - who is to play the band's first full gig in six years later in the month - will release both his self-titled LP and debut solo single 'Run With The Boys' are to be released on October 4.
A spokesperson for the rocker said: "Having released two albums with The Libertines and then a further two with Dirty Pretty Things, Carl was very keen to do his own record and do things his own way.
"It is a departure from Carl's previous releases, but maintains his ear for melody. The album allowed him to work with new people and try new musical ideas. The result is a very honest and heartfelt record, with upbeat tales of friendship and laments for lost love."
In addition to the album, the 'Can't Stand Me Now' rocker also announced the release of his first book, 'Threepenny Memoir' on September 30 - which is to be a collection of stories and memoirs from his life - as well as a solo UK and European tour beginning in Brighton on October 15.
Carl recently revealed the tracks on the new album will have a more "naked" sound than anything he has released while part of the Libertines or his other former band, Dirty Pretty Things.
He said: "It will sound very different because I don't want to have loud electric guitars. I want to do something more wordy. Or at least where the words are more exposed. It's quite naked-sounding."
