Cakewalk Announce Free Update for SONAR X2
Windows 8 is the most ambitious OS releases from Microsoft since Windows 95, with a new user interface that merges desktop computing with a mobile user experience using multitouch.
Cakewalk's Noel Borthwick discussed SONAR's improved performance with Windows 8 on the Cakewalk Blog, saying "This is great news for existing Windows 7 users who are considering an upgrade to Windows 8".
Windows 8 desktop users not using multitouch hardware can still reap the benefits of the updated SONAR X2a software, with improvements in areas like hard disk throughput, fewer audio glitches, lower CPU load in low-latency situations, reduced memory usage and overall reduced CPU load, as well as new production features.
SONAR X2a has been well-received by industry specialists and is the only DAW software with touchscreen capability, available to try in-store at Gear4music soon. To check for your free update, visit the Cakewalk website.
