Buddy Guy and BB King to play Eric Clapton's guitar festival
The event, which will take place at Chicago's Toyota Park on June 26th 2010, will feature Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and BB King, as well as ZZ Top and the Allman Brothers Band.
Fans attending the festival will not only watch the guitar heroes performing with their usual bands, they will also have the chance to see some one-off collaborations between the stars.
Former Cream guitar player Clapton has organised the festival to raise money for the Crossroads Centre, the alcohol and drug rehabilitation complex he founded in Antigua.
However, he told Rolling Stone his motivations for putting together the star-studded line-up are not all charitable.
"I do it because I want to hear these players," said Clapton.
"It's a selfish thing. I can go to one place and hear all of my favourite musicians in one day."
Clapton recently played two shows with Beck, the man who replaced him in The Yardbirds, at London's O2 Arena, but the veteran electric guitar players earned mixed reviews for their performances.
