Bryan Ferry employs Korg Kaoss KP3 on new album
Bryan Ferry, the musician who made his name as the lead singer in Roxy Music, has used the Korg Kaoss KP3 effects unit in the recording of his new album.
Ferry added the sampling gadget to his personal studio during the making of the Olympia LP. He said the Korg equipment is likely to become a permanent fixture that will feature in his future musical efforts, reports MI-Pro.
The musician explained he had first employed the Korg Kaoss KP3 when making the Dylanesque album, which was a collection of Bob Dylan covers. Ferry explained he had wanted to give the song If Not For You a unique twist, so used the device to put the bass and drums through a filter setting.
Ferry is going to be reunited with the rest of Roxy Music for a UK tour soon, with the run of gigs getting underway in Newcastle on January 25th. Further shows are planned in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and London.
