The 19-year-old singer wowed judges Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff with his rendition of Tracy Chapman classic Fast Car on Saturday night's (April 16th) show, but has since revealed he developed his skills on the guitar by copying videos of rock stars on video streaming website YouTube.
He told the Plymouth Evening Herald: "When I first started playing I practised constantly when I came home from school. It's harder now because I have responsibilities."
Michael, whose fiance Sarah McLeish gave birth to the couple's first son Jamie eight weeks ago, also admitted he is hoping his appearance on the ITV1 show will help to lift his family out of poverty and allow them to move into a two-bedroom house, rather than the caravan he currently lives in.
Music teacher Michelle Schmitt from St Croix Elementary and Middle School in the US recently spent a grant worth £2,538 on new guitars, amps and drums in the hope of educating youngsters about all kinds of musical genres.
