Britain's Got Talent entrant learned to play guitar on internet
Britain's Got Talent hopeful Michael Collings taught himself to play the acoustic guitar by attempting to emulate the heroes who he watched on the internet.
The 19-year-old singer wowed judges Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff with his rendition of Tracy Chapman classic Fast Car on Saturday night's (April 16th) show, but has since revealed he developed his skills on the guitar by copying videos of rock stars on video streaming website YouTube.
He told the Plymouth Evening Herald: "When I first started playing I practised constantly when I came home from school. It's harder now because I have responsibilities."
Michael, whose fiance Sarah McLeish gave birth to the couple's first son Jamie eight weeks ago, also admitted he is hoping his appearance on the ITV1 show will help to lift his family out of poverty and allow them to move into a two-bedroom house, rather than the caravan he currently lives in.
