Brian May to appear at BBC Proms in the Park
Electric guitar legend Brian May is to appear at this year's BBC Proms in the Park.
The Queen veteran will perform with Kerry Ellis, a singer who May spotted in a production of My Fair Lady in the West End nine years ago.
Ellis was subsequently cast in We Will Rock You, the hit musical based on the band's many hits.
And she has now recorded a studio album, which has been produced by May and features his distinctive electric guitar playing.
Her appearance at the BBC Proms in the Park event, which takes place on September 11th 2010, comes two days before the release of the record, which is called Anthems.
The album features an eclectic mixture of material, including a version of I Love It When You Call by The Feeling and I'm Not That Girl from Wicked.
Anthems also features a new version of Queen's No-One But You (Only the Good Die Young), which was released by the three surviving band members in 1997 as a tribute to their late singer Freddie Mercury.Posted on 23 Jun 2010 12:08 to category : Band / Celebrity News
