Brett Anderson obsessed with remastered albums
Brett Anderson says Suede's remastered albums have been an "obsession" for him.
The 'Animal Nitrate' group - who reunited last year for a series of shows, seven years after they disbanded - are about to re-release their five studio albums one week at a time and the singer says preparing them has been "a labour of love".
He said: "A lot of love went into those reissues. They became a labour of love and a bit of an obsession for me."
The 43-year-old musician spent hours finding old footage of him and his bandmates playing memorable shows to add to the new discs, which will feature DVD extras and unreleased material.
He continued to The Sun newspaper: "January to March of this year, I was up early every morning, on the computer trying to source things. I was calling friends up, saying, 'Have you got that old video you filmed of us in Sheffield in 1992? Have you got any old photos?' "
Although Brett is enjoying his reunion with other band members Neil Codling, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Mat Osman, he insists he has no regrets about splitting in 2003 because he claims "there wasn't any gas left in the tank".
He explained: "I don't regret it at all. It was completely true at the time. The reason we called it a day in 2003 was because there wasn't any gas left in the tank and I think that was a brave decision and the right one."Posted on 20 May 2011 16:15 to category : Band / Celebrity News
