Boy George: Adele has to quit smoking
The Culture Club singer – the band reformed this year – believes his advice will help to fix Adele's vocal problems, which have caused her a headache for most of the year.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said being a singer and a smoker was not a harmonious relationship.
"I gave up smoking six months ago which was the best thing I ever did. I used to try to convince myself it made me sound jazzier.
"It was very difficult to give up but I'm so glad I did."
Boy George, who first shot to fame in the 80s as part of Culture Club, was instrumental in promoting the New Romantic movement.
Some of their all-time popular hits include Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and Karma Chameleon.
Meanwhile, Adele, whose album 21 has astounded critics for its subtle beauty and power, has teamed up with the Big Issue to give away an exclusive track with the magazine.
