Bowling for Soup impressive to kids
Bowling for Soup impress nine year olds with their guitar skills.
The '1985' rockers have learned over their 18 year career the key to success is to always play their strengths and they get a buzz out of being able to impress younger members of the audience with their musicianship.
Singer and guitarist Jaret Reddick told BANG Showbiz: "I'm not an amazing guitar player - I just know what my strengths are.
"So I can make it look like I'm f***ing amazing to, like, some nine year old kid who's like, 'whoa you're the best guitarist ever seen!' I'm not. I taught myself how to play and I just know what I can do well, and I play to that.
"You can tell when a band is right in their comfort zone and they have found their groove."
Bowling for Soup have this week released their eleventh album, 'Fishin' For Woos', independently, and say they feel "blessed" their fanbase don't care if they have fancy videos or adverts to promote it or not.
Jaret added: "It doesn't matter if we release the album on our own, on a label, whether we do a high budget video or a low budget video, our fans are very loyal to us and we're super blessed.
"I think a lot of that comes from the fact that in Bowling for Soup we've never tried to reinvent the wheel. We're better musicians and we're definitely better songwriters and we're better live now than we've ever been, but you know we're not going to take some crazy techno direction or anything."
'Fishin' for Woos' is out now.Posted on 27 Apr 2011 16:15 to category : Music News
