Bowie retirement 'likely'
It appears almost certain that one of the greatest musicians to have come out of England might actually have retired.
According to Paul Trynka, former editor-in-chief of Moo, David Bowie has "most likely" packed in making music.
It's been half a decade since the legendary iconoclast last played lived on stage with Alicia Keys and his last studio album was way back in 2003 when he released Reality.
A pioneer of music and image, Bowie is known as being an innovator, pushing the limitations of what is expected of musicians at any given point in his career.
Speaking to Spinner, Mr Trynka, who has published a new biography of Bowie titled Starman, said that although his heart reckoned Bowie would make a comeback, his head said anything but.
"I think he would only come back if he thinks he could deliver something that will be seismic. If you pop back into the stage, it's got to be something that has a big explosion and lots of flashes. It would be a bit of a miracle if he comes back, but miracles do happen."
Starman references the title of a song that came from Bowie's seminal album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
