Roland Future Redefined Katana Amps
Roland Katana Guitar Amps and Mulit-Effects

Boss has just introduced the new Boss Katana amp series, a new lineup of four guitar amplifiers, especially design with refined rock tones and built-in Boss effects. Inspired by the acclaimed Waza amplifier, the new Katana series is greatly equipped to provide the ultimate rock sound. Each model offers a class-defying tone, touch response, and presence, which are ideal for gigging guitarists, studio use and practice at home. The term 'Katana', derives from the traditional sword carried by the historic samurai of Japan, which is a symbol of honour, precision, and artistry in Japanese culture. Each Katana amp offers smooth, cutting rock tones, and features proprietary circuit designs and meticulous tuning, along with quality craftsmanship.

The new Katana lineup consists of three combo amplifiers and an amplifier head, including the 50-watt Katana-50 and 100-watt Katana-100 are both equipped with a custom 12-inch speaker. The Katana-100/212 provides 100 watts of power and is equipped with two custom 12-inch speakers for the ultimate projection. The 100-watt Katana-Head is designed for use with an external speaker cabinet and also includes a convenient integrated monitor speaker for tone preview and practice.

Each Katana amp features five selectable amp characters, including Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic. Each of the amp characters has been fine-tuned by the specialist Boss engineering team to offer rock players a wide range of professional sounds to achieve the ultimate performance. Inspired by the flagship Waza amp, the Brown character delivers refined high-gain tone sought after by the world’s greatest rock players. In addition, the Acoustic character further enhances the Katana’s versatility, providing natural tone for acoustic-electric guitars.

As well as this, each model in the lineup also includes integrated access to 55 Boss effects, which are customisable using the free Boss Tone Studio editor software. Users can load 15 different effects in the amp at one time, and use up to three effects at once. It is the perfect tool for tailoring your sound, and creating something unique.

As well as this new lineup from Boss, Roland has also launched the GT-1 Guitar Effects Processor, a compact multi-effects unit with professional sound quality. The GT-1 provides a huge selection of world-class amps and effects for all types of music. With its light and portable design, the GT-1 offers a streamlined interface for quick and easy sound creation, perfect for any level of guitarist.

With a sound engine derived from the flagship GT-100, users have access to tone quality and sound-shaping ability that exceeds typical compact multi-effects. The GT-1 is vastly equipped with effects including overdrive/distortion, looper, chorus, delay, and other standards, cutting-edge MDP effects, and utility effects such as Acoustic Simulator and Guitar Simulator.Powered with a choice of AC or battery power, the GT-1 offers mobile flexibility for performing and practicing anywhere. With up to seven hours of battery life, the GT-1 is ideal for street gigs, backstage warm-ups, hotel practice, and any on-the-go scenarios.

This new lineup of guitar amps and the GT-1 will be available from October 2016
