Bono feared permanent injury
Bono feared he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair after injuring his back.
The frontman - who suffered a slipped disc while preparing for the group's upcoming 'U2360' tour - put off seeking treatment for the ailment for so long he panicked when he was told how serious the condition was.
His bandmate The Edge told The Sun newspaper: "Luckily, he did realise, when he could no longer walk, that he needed to go to the doctor. Had he not done anything about it, it could have been serious and possibly permanent. He just overdid it and hurt himself. He was clearly in shock about the implications of the injury."
Despite the disappointment of having to pull out of headlining next month's Glastonbury Festival and the postponement of all their North American tour dates, the guitarist thinks the imposed time-off will be good for the singer.
The Edge added: "This is probably the most rest Bono will have had in decades. Knowing him, he'll want to take some short cuts and get ahead of himself."Posted on 28 May 2010 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
