Bobby Womack praises Damon Albarn
Posted on 19 May 2010 11:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Singer Bobby Womack has compared Damon Albarn with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles after recording a guest vocal for a Gorillaz track.
Speaking to the Sun, the electric guitar player claimed that working with the ex-Blur frontman in the studio was similar to his experience of recording with some of the greats.
Womack, who provides vocals for the Gorillaz song Stylus alongside rapper Mos Def, claimed that working with the band was "different" to anything he has done in his 40-year career.
"He's the same way [Hendrix and Charles were]. He's very creative and thinks way out there, trying things that people don't try. There ain't no egos, these guys are cool," he explained.
Albarn recently speculated that Blur will once again dust off their electric guitars to pen more songs after the success of Fool's Day, a one-off track made for Record Store Day last month.
