Bob Marley's Gibson Les Paul to be displayed at Grammy Museum
The Gibson Les Paul famously played by Bob Marley is to be loaned to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
It is to be displayed there as part of a large exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the singer's passing, reports the Jamaica Observer.
The Bob Marley Museum in Kingston has handed over the electric guitar over on a temporary basis.
Jacqueline Lynch Stewart, general manager at the Bob Marley Museum, said: "Members of staff were anxious about it leaving the museum, but all understand that Bob is not only a Jamaican legend, but a world legend, so he has to be shared with the rest of the world."
In 2002, Gibson honoured the reggae musician by manufacturing 200 limited Les Paul Specials built to the exact specifications of the guitar he used.
Another star known for his love of the Les Paul is Jeff Beck.
Speaking to the Gibson website earlier this week, he recalled how he was unable to choose whether it or the Fender Stratocaster was his favourite guitar when he was younger.
