Blur to make new LP
Posted on 11 May 2010 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Blur are planning to record a new album.
The group - who vowed not to release any new material after reforming for a tour last summer - have decided to go back into the studio after making 'Fool's Day', a 7in limited-edition single released to celebrate Record Store Day last month.
Frontman Damon Albarn said: "I'm definitely going to do a few more of those 7ins and at some point in the undetermined future there will be a record at the end of it.
"I love the no pressure aspect. Just going in the studio and recording it in a day is something we haven't done since the B-sides in the early days."
However, the singer - who is joined in Blur by guitarist Graham Coxon, drummer Dave Rowntree and bassist Alex James - has warned fans there will be a long wait for an album because he is too busy with his other ventures, including his animated group Gorillaz and another operatic production.
He added to NME magazine: "We can't do Blur all the time. So I don't want anyone to think there's an album coming soon, it's not possible, but we've got songs!"
Blur's last album of new material was 2003's 'Think Tank'. However, Graham left the band halfway through recording, meaning the last LP they worked on fully as a group was 1999's '13'.
