The iconic Britpop band will top the bill on the Wednesday (August 7th) night of the event which takes place at Oslo's Middelalderparken from August 6th to 10th 2013, adding to their current festival schedule over the summer.
Blur's announcement is the first wave of acts revealed for the festival and they will be joined by the likes of Haim, Angel Haze, Of Mice And Men, Tønes, Monica Heldal and Rebekka Karijord.
Øya Festival is quickly becoming one of the more established on the European continent and has boasted acts such as Kanye West, Pulp, Arctic Monkeys and Morrisey in previous years.
It is just one of a number of European festivals that Blur will be appearing at over the 2013 summer months, with the band already confirmed at Belgium's Rock Werchter in July, after playing the twin Primavera festivals in Barcelona on May 24th and then in Porto, Portugal on May 31st.
Blur reformed in 2008 following a seven-year hiatus and recently played at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
