Blues star T-Model Ford: Gibson guitar gift changed my life

The gift of a Gibsonguitar and amp changed the life of T-Model Ford, the blues musician has revealed.
Ford, who is now 89, explained that he received the present at the age of 58 from his third wife.
Speaking to the Hartford Advocate, the star said he was somewhat surprised at the present.
"[I told her] I can't play no guitar and she say 'You can learn' ... ," he explained.
Fifteen years and plenty of practice later, Ford was signed up by Fat Possum Records, allowing him to embark on a late-blooming career as a musician.
He added that his is enjoying the rewards brought to him through music.
"The good Lord is keeping me here and I'm playing the blues," said Ford, who is currently promoting his new acoustic album The Ladies Man.
Last month, Peter Banks from Yes praised the Gibson ES-335 guitar as the best instrument he has ever used.
