Bloc Party guitarist set to release new album
Russell Lissack, the electric guitar player in Bloc Party, is set to release his first album as part of his side project, Pin Me Down.
The self-titled record, the result of a collaboration with American songwriter Milena Mepri, is to come out on April 19th 2010.
Lissack's new work comes as Bloc Party take an indefinite hiatus from the world of music following several years of constant touring and recording for the band.
Mepri and Lissack are set to play a series of live shows in support of the record later this year.
Last month, the electric guitar player told Spinner Music that Pin Me Down want to combine pop and dance a move away from Bloc Party's indie roots.
"I wouldn't say it's light-hearted, but there's a definite pop element to it, because that's something that's important to both of us," he said.
"But I also think there's a lot of emotion in there as well."Posted on 8 Mar 2010 13:56 to category : Band / Celebrity News
