Bloc Party's electric guitar player Russell Lissack is joining Ash for the Irish group's upcoming UK tour, it has been revealed.
Lissack told NME that he was asked to join Ash by their frontman Tim Wheeler after it was announced Bloc Party would be taking a break.
"As soon as they called me I was really excited," said the guitar player.
"I guess the only weird part will be spending so much time with people I don't really know."
Ash's tour will begin in Southampton on April 19th 2010, before going on to visit venues in cities including Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester.
The final date will take place on May 4th at the Electric Ballroom in London.
Lissack is currently also busy with his side-project Pin Me Down.
The electric guitar player has teamed up with US songwriter Milena Mepri to record a self-titled debut album that is due to be released on April 19th.
