Black Eyed Peas reveal they are to go on a break
The Black Eyed Peas have announced that they are to go on an indefinite break to pursue solo projects.
They made the announcement during their final live UK performance at Alton Towers last week.
As they came on stage, singer Fergie told the crowd that this was going to be a special show as it was the last time they "were going to be England for a long time".
She told the screaming crowd of fans: "We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you've given from the beginning."
When the crowd started booing at the disappointment of the news, the star was quick to reassure them that this was not the absolute end.
She added: "This isn't going to be the last time you'll see us."
This was later confirmed by Will.i.am on the social networking site Twitter.
The music producer, who has composed a lot of the band's hits on the latest music software, said: "The BEP will take a break after the beginning...just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d...but it doesn't mean we stop creating."
He was making a reference to a similar short break they band took between 2005 and 2009.
