Billy Corgan collapses on stage
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan can't remember collapsing on stage.
The 'Tonight, Tonight' singer - who passed out while performing at a gig in Florida on Wednesday night (21.07.10) - has revealed he has "no memory" of the incident, but is aware of it happening because of the bruising he has been left with as a result of the fall.
Writing on his twitter page, Billy said: "For those that saw me fall during Bullet, that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out.
"I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise + am moving slow. (sic)"
The guitarist - who was playing at the RITZ Ybor venue in Tampa as part of an intimate US tour - was said to have looked dizzy while performing 1995 hit 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings', before stumbling and falling into a drum riser.
Despite the fall, he seemed in good spirits, telling fans it was a "tremendous" show.
He tweeted: "Thanks a million to the fans in Tampa last night for a tremendous show! We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate you today. (sic)"
The band will continue their tour with a performance at the Valarium venue in Knoxville, Tennessee, tonight (23.07.10).Posted on 23 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Music News
