Billy Bragg organises new charity album
Posted on 8 Jul 2010 16:00 to category : Instruments News

Solo singer Billy Bragg has helped put together a new compilation album in aid of his charity Jail Guitar Doors.
The organisation helps prisoners by providing them with musical instruments to give them a new outlet and focus.
To raise money for the cause, a host of bands have contributed to the Breaking Rocks album, which is to be released on July 26th 2010, reports Clash Music.
Acts on the record include Pete and the Pirates, Baddies and The Neat.
Bragg himself features on the album, with a live recording of I Keep Faith taken from a special show inside a prison being one of the tracks.
The musician has explained in the past that the Jail Guitar Doors initative was started out of a desire to do something positive to mark the fifth anniversary of the death of Joe Strummer.
Gibson has since helped sponsor the scheme, which has delivered musical instruments to more than 20 prisons around the UK.
