Top comedian Bill Bailey brought his own special brand of musical comedy to the Royal Albert Hall recently, shown on BBC1 over the weekend. The unique show featured a full 72 piece orchestra as well as Bill Bailey playing his beloved Yamaha CPX900 acoustic guitar.
The Yamaha was the only acoustic guitar used by Bailey throughout the performance, and when it was not being played it featured prominently on the stage.
Bill Bailey's "Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra", featured the comedian and classically trained musician letting his surreal and musical imagination loose on the brilliantly versatile BBC Concert Orchestra. Playing brand new versions of some of his songs and providing an irreverent guide to the orchestra, the show was really well received, described by The Times as 'blissfully funny' and Stephen Fry as ' wonderfully enjoyable... like driving a Rolls Royce off-road'.
