Biffy Clyro new album claims Official UK Number One
Posted on 4 Feb 2013 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

It is the band's sixth studio album but has managed to smash all their other efforts out of the water, selling a whopping 71,500 copies in the first week of its release, beating previous records Only Revolutions (43,000) and Puzzle (37,000) by a long way.
The Scottish trio have managed to knock The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Les Miserables off the top spot into second place, while the re-issue of Fleetwood Mac's iconic album Rumours, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, rounded off the week in third position.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, Biffy Clyro said: "Opposites feels like the best record we've ever made and to have it sitting atop the Official Albums Chart is a huge honour. Thank you so much to all our fans."
The band's first single from Opposites, Black Chandelier, currently sits 39th in the Official UK Singles Chart following three weeks in the charts.
Opposites is the first double album that Biffy Clyro have released and has received fairly positive reviews with NME giving it a seven out of ten.
