Biffy Clyro drummer chooses Pearl Drum Kits
Posted on 17 Feb 2010 13:53 to category : Band / Celebrity News

The driving rhythms of Ben Johnston, drummer and founding member of Scottish experimental rock band Biffy Clyro, have been a key part of the band's success.
In a recent interview with leading drum manufacturer Pearl, Ben revealed he chose their drums as they "give me a chance to play one setup that sings both live and in the studio".
Pearl drums have been instrumental in Ben's success, and in Rhythm Magazine's 2004 reader poll, he was voted number 2 Best New Drummer.
Ben also offered advice to young drummers, saying "try to develop solid technique from the start, but also have your own style".
After being signed to independent label Beggars Banquet in 2000, Biffy Clyro developed a cult following, releasing three critically acclaimed albums.
In 2006 the band moved to an imprint under Warner Bros, releasing the album Puzzle, which shot straight to number two in the charts and became a gold disc.
Success has continued with the release of Only Revolutions in 2009, again reaching the top ten.
