Biffy Clyro Strat Impresses
Posted on 15 Dec 2009 21:00 to category : Instruments News

Biffy Clyro's guitarist and frontman - Simon Neil, has recently been honoured with a signature Squier Stratocaster. This month, the bright red stratocaster received high praise from Guitar and Bass Magazine
Guitar and bass Magazine were quick to notice the similarity in the design of this guitar to the Classic Vibe 50s and 60s Stratocasters.
The only differences were said to be "a few mods to suit the Biffy frontman's tonal tastes".
Within their review, Guitar and Bass Magazine's reviewer praised the guitar for its well-built C-shaped neck and commented that this guitar "could easily pass on for a more expensive instrument".
Biffy Clyro have moved from strength to strength in recent months and can currently be seen touring Europe.
With this in mind, it looks like Simon Neil's signature Stratocaster will be finding its way to many budding guitarists' homes this Christmas.
"If Fender/Squier's remit was to produce something affordable, classy and accessible to younger players whose pockets aren't deep enough for the 'real thing', theyve done an exceptional job."
Guitar and Bass Magazine summarised the guitar perfectly:
"An excellent looking, feeling and most importantly, sounding instrument this is quite simply a cracking guitar."
