Beyonce rejects Coldplay song
Martin, who fronts indie-pop rockers Coldplay told Maxim that the song he penned to fit in with Beyonce's distinct and inimitable style was rejected by her A&R team.
It is seen as a bold move as Martin is an extremely well-respected singer-songwriter in the industry who has produced hits like Yellow from the studio album Parachutes.
However, another R&B queen was more than happy to take on a song created by Coldplay's vocalist.
"Well I did write a song for Beyonce, but it got rejected by her A&R people. And the one I wrote for Rihanna didn't get rejected," he told the magazine.
"It was when Rihanna was doing Rated R, but it took so long – there's still this tribalism in music where we're rock and you're hip hop, and sometimes it takes a while to get across those barriers."
Coldplay are a number of musicians who have signed exclusive deals with Google as it launches its first ever music service.
They will release a five-track EP with Google Music.Posted on 17 Nov 2011 12:15 to category : Band / Celebrity News
