Best guitarist vote launched by BBC 6 Music

A public vote to find the best guitar player of the past 30 years has been launched by BBC 6 Music.
Visitors to the radio station's website have until April 1st 2010 to vote for their favourite ahead of a special show revealing the winner of The Axe Factor on April 9th.
A shortlist of 40 guitar players has been drawn up for music lovers to pick from, with a host of stellar names including Slash, Jack White and Kurt Cobain in contention.
Other artists to feature include REM's Peter Buck, Blur's Graham Coxon and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead, as well as James Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers.
Johnny Marr and Joshua Homme are also in the running for the honour.
Last month, Marr, who has played in several bands including The Smiths and The Cribs, got back a Gibsonguitar that was stolen from him ten years ago after the thief was finally caught.
